1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Second Chance at Redemption...set in the 70s By Michele E. Gwynn I was gifted this book by the author, and what a gift! First, Inmon really knows how to set the stage and take the reader to another time. Talk about nostalgia. Wow. I was back in my own childhood in the early and mid-70s from the yellow, burnt orange, and avocado color palette to the big Kenmore stereos, Cameros, and Foghat concert t-shirts. But it was the references to the music of the time that cinched the mood. Now that the stage was set, the story of two brothers slowly broke my heart. Thomas is the younger, awkward teen to older, athletic, all-around beloved big brother, Zach. In this tale, one lives, one dies, and the survivor spends his life mired in guilt and depression until...time shifts, and the universe offers a second chance. I'm hooked. Starting book two! I have to find out what happens next to Thomas Weaver.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A unique and page-turning story By Andrew Branham The Unusual Second Life of Thomas Weaver was a wonderful and fascinating read. The author did an incredible job of bringing this story to life and drawing the readers in. In a nutshell, the theme of the book is, what would you do with your life if you could do it all over again. I think the concept is really unique and something that really had not been done in this context. The story is about the tragic life of a 50 year old man who gets a second chance by becoming a teenager again. I connected very well with the main character and Mr. Inmon did a very nice job with character development and setting. You truly feel like you are a part of the story as his writing is really superb. I highly recommend this book and I will be reading some additional titles by Mr. Inmon. Great work.
3 of 4 people found the following review helpful. This first episode is a promising beginning. By bekki speeks I have read all of Shawn Inmon's books and each one gets better and better. This one was the most fascinating one yet. Although I am of an older generation than his probable target audience, I thoroughly enjoy reminiscing while reading his books. In the too short time it took to read this episode I chuckled out loud, cried real tears and caught my breath in shock. Time will seem to creep to a stop until I am able to read Episode 2. (This is the way I felt when I read Bonfire of the Vanities many, many years ago.)
