Thomas For the main characters supposedly being around 30, the dialogue reminds me of ditzy teenagers. Actually teenagers don't even talk like this. And then there's the texting as dialogue, which I am not against, but once again this is written in a juvenile uninteresting way. This really reads like a YA story and I stopped reading about a third of the way in because I really didn't like (clueless) Sara at all. The plot was promising, but the execution lacked this writers usual skill.

Whole review is possible spoiler By Karen Talley I really hate to give a 1 star review, but this book was so impossible that I only got to 50% and had to call it quits. First of all, I really dislike a plot that is based on a character being "in love" with someone since their childhood. Affection and friendship that turns to love, yes. But, this dude told the heroine when he was 14 that he was going to marry her (she was 11) and then basically tracked her over the years. He spent almost all of his time with her when he was a child, preferring her over boys his own age. A little strange in my opinion. The heroine, if you can call her that, is one of the most irritating that I have encountered. She is so whiny and needy that I wanted to slap her and say "Shape up, woman!" She also acted more like a teen than an adult. On her first day (and it was a busy one) as a waitress, she is hiding out and texting when she should have been working. And, that is another thing, reading all the texts between the two of them was irritating. The "flashbacks" of the two of them when she was a 6 year old was also annoying and, in my opinion, pointless. Yes, we got that they were close when they were young....we don't need it hammered at us over and over. I really don't understand all the 4 and 5 star reviews, but to each his own. For me, this was a DNF and the author goes on my 'do not buy list.'

Love comes back to you By CrashB Surviving LoveThis book starts with a bittersweet memory of a long lost friendship between two children Sara and Mikey.Flash forward: Sara has had a rough go of it the last 14 years. Because of terrible personal circumstances she has had to take a leap of faith by finally trying to fulfill one of her childhood dreams. She sells everything but her clothes, packs up and moves to Montana to work on a ranch, while there she reconnects with Mickey. This is where the story begins. This book gives us more flashbacks of childhood and past young adult memories that show the reader just how far down Sara has fallen emotionally. She is truly broken and fragile. Because of this state of mind Sara sometimes says and does really stupid things. She is a grown woman of the age of 30 when the current story takes place. Because of her age I was really annoyed with how she treated Mike/Mikey at times. However the big picture does come out in the end. Mike Frost (Mikey) is a man’s man now who is still in love with Sara, his childhood friend. The timing is finally right for him and he takes the opportunity now to set the record straight with Sara.I liked this story because it is a stand-alone book with a HEA and a no cliffhanger ending. I could see some spin off books from the characters in this book. I had issues with how the two families (Sara and Mike’s) did/ didn’t get along. I was confused at how Mike’s father was so against Sara’s family but yet his wife (Mike’s mother) was obviously a dear friend with Sara’s mother. They lived across the street from each other how could they be considered so much less then him (Mike’s Dad)? This was a weird spin to me. My neighbors a crossed the street from me have the same upper middle class home as me but yet I feel superior? Sounds odd. Anyway I digress. Overall the book is a quick read with lovable, quirky characters, and an element of danger and violence as well.I will also state I am not a fan of Romance novels but I did enjoy this story. The flashbacks in time were a nice touch to keep the reader involved emotionally with the main characters. The two main characters Sara and Mike are believable because of the flashbacks; otherwise I wouldn’t buy the doormat behavior of Sara with her ex fiancée, Phil. There are revelations that make the subservient behavior Sara exhibits understandable, forgivable, and believable.
