I love the way they are Christian humans but are living their lives day to day doing the best they can. Trying to find their way in the world. Trying to be accepted , living life the best way they can. Her characters are also so real and the way Wendy writes you get so involved in her books that's it's more like an experience than just sitting reading a book. Your invested in the characters a hundred and ten percent.Seeds is a totally different book than any book I've ever read and I loved it. Their are four different characters that you follow on parts of their journey though this life with their fair share of troubles. Cory, Blaine, Holden, and Lawrence . Each has a different issue going on in their lives but they all go to the same church and they don't even realize they all have this connection. Each going to church for their own reasons but each having a special moment during the same exact summon. I loved how their lives started to intertwine and connect It was so fun discovering what was going on in ones live and how it tied to the others. Their stories are told in two parts also. In he first you see what they are dealing with and going through right to the point of the sermon. The second part is after the sermon and if and how they apply it to their lives.I devoured this book.i loved how unique it is. I love how well developed Wendy made each and every story. I loved how she put the two parts together. I loved how this book makes you think about things in your life too. It's a book you need to get and read I think there's is something for everyone in the book. Some characters I loved, some I cheered for, and some I wanted to punch really hard in the throat. That to me is the sign of a good book. The emotions it brings out in meI received a copy of this book for an honest review .

By Mary Blackhurst Hill You never reach the end of one of Ms Oleston's books and say "Oh, that was a nice story." Instead you carry her characters with you in your head for the next week, continuing to argue with them about their actions and beliefs. That is a sign of a good book. I think her main strength is portraying characters who are neither wholly good nor wholly bad but who are most definitely wholly human and who challenge her readers with that humanity. Cory, Blaine, Holden and Lawrence are all challenged by God in the same way. They each react according to their backgrounds, social groupings and their personal beliefs. I didn't actually really like any of the characters; like is too puny a word. I felt compassion and frustration for Cory, I despised, yet felt sorry for Blaine. I adored and grieved for the sexy Holden and I wanted to take Lawrence and bang his head against the nearest wall. Hard. In fact, I think I still do (I'm very sorry, Ms Oleston but your lovely Lawrence really annoys me). In spite of this, I have to give it five stars because Amazon won't allow me to dock half a star for "getting annoyed with a lovely boy who's just trying to do his best." This book is gritty, funny, poignant and totally unlike any other book I've read. I still can't believe it's Christian fiction. But it's what more Christian fiction should be. Oh, and yes - I did get my free copy for an honest review.

It is Christian fiction but not love come softly stuff, she writes real deal every day life and struggles. Yet she seamlessly works God into every aspect of the story. Seeds is 4 stories focused on the tiny little mustard seed in Matthew 13. 4 completely different stories, 4 outcomes yet the common bond in all 4 is the same church and how with the right conditions one can flourish or fail. If you want real life read this and other books by Wendy Oleston.
