About the Author Dr. Mary Ann Frost graduated Summa cum Laude from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology; earned a Master of Arts in College Administration and Counseling from Bowling Green State University; and completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling & Mental Health with a focus on Counseling Psychology and Family Therapy at the University of Toledo. She received family therapy training from the Accademia di Psicoterapia della Famiglia in Rome, Italy. Dr. Frost is certified by the Duluth Domestic Violence Program and has facilitated and consulted on Domestic Violence Intervention programs. She is certified in Critical Incidence Stress Management (trauma interventions) and is a member of the Pinellas County Sheriff Department’s CISM Team. Dr. Frost is a Board Certified in Professional Counseling, a Diplomat and Fellow of the American Psychotherapy Association, and a Board Certified Relationship Counselor. In Florida, Dr. Frost is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor. Across more than 20 years, Dr. Frost served as a faculty member, counselor, and administrator at a number of colleges and universities completing her academic career at the University of Toledo in Ohio. So I recently started reading this book with him at bedtime and found that the simple meditation repeated throughout the book "I am safe, I am loved, I can do this, I am brave" has not only helped him at night, but also during the day when he faces new challenges. To be honest - those words have been helpful to me when I have been feeling overwhelmed as well!
