Topping from the bottom and finding truth...intense book By SEB I am a self admitted dark romance reader, who also loves biker and BDSM books and will occasionally dabble in a little M/M erotica/romance.This book though, OMG...it transcends anything else I have read in the M/M genre and took me by surprise due to its frank and gritty nature but filled with such passion and a story that could take place anywhere.At first I thought I was reading a paranormal fantasy (the language and poetic prose along with a Tarot card reading) but once the story went deeper, I realized it was just a spiritual glimpse of what was to come and that nothing could prepare me for the reality of this Dom's fall from his throne at the hands of a tender sub named Beo.Colt is recognized by his peers as a man who is always in control...someone to be looked up to and in the eyes of his various playthings, his "boys", he is a Master and they all adore him and crave his attention. Meeting the sweet and charismatic Beo was something that took him by surprise and rocked his secure foundation to the core...but the secret this broken young man was hiding and the childhood that had left Colt's damaged might not be something either one could heal from and it was a tragedy waiting to happen.The sex was raw and graphic (I really didn't know much about the BDSM world for gay men before reading this book and didn't realize how utterly dark and depraved they could be compared to what I have read about M/F arrangements), the players ranging from sensitive and sweet to scary and mean-spirited... and yet it was at times so full of passion and deeply moving that I found myself getting extremely emotionally involved with the characters.There was a very intense plot involving the dysfunctional families surrounding both Colt and Beo and I was very pleased with how their issues resolved themselves and the outcome of the story was rewarding and uplifting, despite what could have been a very sad and tragic ending.An excellent book for readers of BDSM, M/M romances or those who have an open mind and are not afraid of something unconventional.***** 5 ***** "topping from the bottom and finding truth" stars

To say I am blown away by this book is such an understatement. I decided to give this a read after the cover made me stop, and then the blurb made me too curious. I wasn't sure what to expect beyond what most MM romance offers: a couple with issues, some BDSM, and a satisfying HEA.First, if you think you've read a M/M BDSM romance, think again. This book offered a close look at the lifestyle, one I can't remember reading. This isn't a white-washed version of gay BDSM love; it's a raw, intense view that left me stunned. Yep, I'm a woman who just loves to read romance, and I don't care what genders are involved. I wasn't expecting the darkness in this book, but wow, it was awesome.I also didn't know if my heart could take the conflict between Cole and Beo. Oh, Cole. I fell in love with your story, even though you tore my heart out, but then I loved you again. Ha! Great writing and characterizations. The author wasn't messing around; he ripped my heart out so many times I wanted to email him and scream, "WHY?!" This is an emotional whirlwind and it was too good to pause for sleep or food. I zoomed through the chapters because I didn't want to wait a day or two to keep reading.So, brilliant story and all the various players are solid. I have to say, if I don't see a second novel with Windego's story, I'm going to cry! Yes, the secondary characters are all fascinating people. I do hope the author makes this a series.Clearly I can't list all the things that I found incredible, or I'd be spoiling this story left and right. I will say that anyone looking for a "light" read had better go elsewhere. This is heavy, emotionally-charged, storytelling. I'll also say it's one of the most intense love stories I've read in a while.

His character is physically strong, mentally as well, though underneath there's a weakness because he is damaged. He uses arrogance and anger to hide that weakness.It's amazing how the game changes when that certain someone enters your life and turns your sh*t upside down.The moment Colt's eyes connect with Beo everything changes. This is not a cheezy love at first sight situation book.No, Colt is sooo Thunderstruck and doesn't know how to handle it. Everything he ever knew about life and how he coped is forever undone. Absolutely no cheeze involved with this awesome book. Their love It's gritty and raw and OMG so Hot yet tender. This book was NOT what I expected. It has so much more depth.The love between Colt and Beo is so d@mn sweet. It's the kind of absolute love one strives for but sadly many never reach.Throw in lots of other dominant personalities, manipulative/back stabbing subs, unrequited love, terminal illness, some MC characters, illegal business transactions, Vivid sensual love scenes and some hot BDSM and you have this novel.I really can't say enough about this book. I'm going to encourage those readers who may shy away from Gay romance to give this book a go. You will not be disappointed. It is written in such a beautiful way you will be amazed at the content and thoroughly satisfied with the happily ever after. IT IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL GAY ROMANCE NOVEL.Now this book certainly has hard edges to it but it also has a softness that rounds it out perfectly.What I worried would be awkwardly written smut turned out be one of the best love stories That I have ever read.This author nailed my interpretation of male perfection personified. Colt has a very dominant personality and I'm not referring to his lifestyle but his overall being. That said the man loves hard! Raw! and completely. Unbelievably Great book!
