Not unlike the tales by Gillian Flynn, this author has the same flair for weaving a bang up tale with characters that are never one dimensional. These are vague and unique people that keep your intrigue throughout the story. Also, Ivy was an outstanding primary character; the revelations as the story grew tenser were palpable and I found myself reading the entire book in one session. Suspension of disbelief was easy because the writer created such a vivid world for her characters to populate. As each page turned, the mystery of Alana became more transparent and by the time you reach the end, a superb catharsis made the whole book even more worthwhile. This is the kind of story I hope for when I sit down to read and I could only imagine in being converted to a movie script. I think this would be a coveted screenplay for Hollywood without a doubt. Either way, if anyone else loves intrigue and mystery, fully fleshed out characters with a foreboding plot that paces you forward on an entertaining trajectory, then you can’t go wrong with this novel. It’s definitely going to remain in my personal library for a long time to come.

It's hard when you're related to someone extremely popular. But, this story takes a dark turn when Ivy's sister disappears which opens the door for Ivy to open up.We see Ivy begin to grow as a person through the discovery of hidden secrets about her sister. It's wonderful to watch it unfold but remains shocking on what we find out about her sister. Great character development, the story keeps you guessing, and Available Coffier delivers a FANTASTIC story 100%.

I found "Whatever You Cherish'" to be among the good ones. I have enjoyed the first person narration as it brings a high degree of emotion into the mystery, making it more intense and believable. Ivy, the sister that always struggled to find her identify finds herself in the position of investigating the disappearance of her always shining sister. Lots of twists and turns with unexpected outcomes makes out of this novel a catchy in intense reading.

I have read all of the Haunting Danielle books and have love each and every one of them. These authors are incredible writers. The books have everything you'd want in a paranormal mystery. I have fallen in love with all of the characters. The stories are well thought out and keep you glued to the book from start to finish. It is going to be hard to wait for the next book in the series.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Not as good as the others... By Avid Reader I did not enjoy this one as much as the others. Danielle getting arrested every book is getting old. JMHO. Also, I would like to see Danielle have a relationship with Joe rather than a ghost. I love Walt but not as a love interest for her. I do think Bobbi Holmes is a great writer, though, and I do look forward to the next one.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Another Great Series! By Connie Correll I love the characters in this series. Descriptions throughout are very vivid. I could almost see the "Ghost" jumping up and down at the windows trying to get attention. But I would really like to have Walt visit my dreams. Anyway, this is a mild paranormal mystery and one you won't want to put down. Very enjoyable.

One night changes everything for both of them… At age twenty-five, Evianna Halle has a master’s degree and a broken heart. In an effort to move forward, she accepts a job as a live-in nanny for Nicholas Wilder, a recent widower with a young daughter. But when she meets Nick, her young and kind-hearted employer, she realizes that maybe the universe brought them together at just the right time for a reason, even if it’s unconventional. Day by day, they learn to heal as one. Nick and Evi discover that perhaps friendship (and eventually love) can overcome heartbreak of the worst kind, even if that means abandoning the life they thought they'd live and embracing a new, unknown future. And Then You is an emotional contemporary romance about unexpected love—and finding your way again when you thought everything good in your life was gone forever.

About the Author Amanda Richardson is an award-winning travel writer turned indie author living in Los Angeles with her fiancé and two cats. When she's not writing or reading (which, let's be honest, accounts for 95% of her free time), she can be found Googling cheap flights to places she's never been, talking to her cats, or obsessing over the British Royal Family. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. A must read! By T. Bianco I fell in love with this author's writing in The Realm of You (If you haven't read it yet, don't wait!). And I was just reminded how much in this novel. The story is beautiful, the writing pulls you in. The characters are so lovable and you can't resist rooting for them when you meet them. The prologue was one of the most heart-wrenching ones I've read. The connection Nick and Evi had was so strong and beautiful. I read this almost in one sitting, making the "mistake" of starting after midnight, I had to put it down at 4.30am, and as soon as I had a free moment the next day, I grabbed my Kindle. I needed to know how their story would evolve. This wasn't insta-love, and I loved how they grew towards each other, little by little opening their heart again, slowly letting one another in. An absolute must-read I can't recommend enough. I'm counting down the days until Between the Pages.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Simply Perfect! By Cristina Lee There's just something about this simple yet romantic story that resonated with me. I'm so taken by how beautifully this was written, that even if it's just a simple story of having loved and lost and then finding love again, I was moved by it. Maybe it's because of the way Nick's lost was written. Maybe it's how strong Cecelia was after losing her daughter and then dealing with her husband's cancer. Or maybe it's how Bria was simply adorable. Or Evianna's family ( I love them! Everybody should have a mom like her mom). But mostly it's because of Evianna, the way her character was written was so relatable. Sure she can be a bit awkward or maybe lacked a bit of direction but her empathy, kindness and capacity to love was so admirable that one can't help but fall in love with her. Nick was so honest and open about his grief that one can't help but feel for him and yet he was so strong and loving to his daughter that you can't help but admire his strength and capacity to push through his grief. And then the little things he does for Evi...swoon! Of course, him quoting Jane Austen didn't hurt either. :)In a world (in the book world at least) where everything was "insta" everything (insta-love, insta-lust, etc.), this was such a refreshing change. It is simple yet so sweet and moving.

The circumstances that bring this couple and family together is sad what this author does with these events is nothing short of magical. She took me just to the brink of me thinking I could not take anything bad happening to this couple. I began to think of them as real folks which to me is the pinnacle of the skill of an author. The daughter, OMG, what a gift. I was sobbing like a baby while reading the epilogue. I pray this author writes more stories just like this one. This is her wheelhouse. Excellent job. I do not have one single thought or suggestion that would have made me love this story more...well if we give the daughter her own book. Just saying! Please! denise bailey

11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Well explained BDSM story, I quite liked it. By Tams (TTC Books and more) Justin White is trying to work his way through college at a local coffee shop while also helping his parents support his sister who was wounded in Afghanistan. He suffered a setback emotionally and financially after a bad break left him homeless and adrift. He overhears a couple regular customers at the coffee shop discussing hiring an assistant, and the job description is right up Justin’s alley, so he applies. He’s really quite shocked when he gets the job, since Justin and the companies CFO loath each other on a good day.Eli Ovadia is cold, calculated, domineering and egotistical. And that’s all before breakfast! A Dom by nature, he carries his need to control across both his personal and professional life. At first Eli thinks that Sam’s new assistant is a smart mouthed, know it all twink, but he’s quickly proven wrong. The sexual tension between the two of them is so thick that it permeates a five mile radius. Even Sam threatens to turn the hose on them if they catch his office on fire. They don’t act on the attraction straight away; in fact, they both fight it tooth and nail for far too long.Looking to blow off some steam and release a bit of tension, Eli and Justin wind up at the same party to play out some scenes, and wind up playing with fire. Eli learned early on that he was a Dom, but he’s not cruel or vindictive, he is the kind of Dom that cares for his Sub and cherishes them. He has been broken down and hurt so many times that he rarely lets anyone past the tough exterior he hides behind. But somehow Justin manages to brush past the barbed wire and touch the tough Dom’s heart.Just as well has had a hard time in life. A submissive by nature, he fell under the control of a cruel and selfish Dom early on and wound up an unwitting slave to a sexual sadist. Now Justin fears ever giving up the control over his body that he craves more than his next breath, for fear of losing control over his individuality again like the last time. Justin is so blinded by his pain that he can’t see the glaring differences between Eli and his past and winds up hurting them both. So, I don’t normally read BDSM, I have never been able to comprehend hurting someone you say you love. But having read the first book in this series and loving it, I had to at least give this one an honest effort. I am thrilled that I did, I loved it more than the first! Zabo has taken the lifestyle of a Dom/Sub relationship and picked it apart for the faint of heart like me, using terms, descriptives and feelings that not only explain the lifestyle and the necessity of it some people crave. But the effect it has on these two men that fall in love with each other, to spite the deck being stacked against them.Eli is very controlling, but pliable. He has this engrained need to be in control, to spank and throttle, but only in a way that is acceptable and requested by his Sub. Justin craves the pain to the point of needing it to thrive, much like food and sleep. So while I don’t comprehend the lifestyle, I was able to understand why these two men did by the way the Author described their lives, their needs and their situations. It is brutal at times and it was hard for me to read through some of the heavier scenes, but what Zabo did was made sure that while that scene was playing out, one or both of the men’s thoughts were on display as well. I thought that was brilliant. It’s a little angsty when you’re inside Justin’s head, but there is a very good reason why so take that in stride. If you’re a fan of the genre, you’ll surely enjoy this read. But aside from the BDSM aspect there is a ton of love, respect and passion in the story as well. So even if you don’t normally read the genre, perhaps you’ll still like this story as I did. I highly recommend it.* I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review through http://mmgoodbookreviews.wordpress.com *

Wonderful and Very Hot By Marleen I received my copy from the publisher through NetGalleyI appear to find myself in the middle of a fabulous reading streak. Every single book I’ve picked up recently has been outstanding and very special. Just Business is no exception – quite the opposite in fact. Just Business gave me everything I could possibly ask for in a story, and then some. When I saw this book came with a recommendation on GoodReads from L.A. Witt I had a feeling I was about to start reading something special, but I had no idea how very special the experience would turn out to be.Justin and Eli *sighs*. Two men with pasts they would rather forget and memories they can’t stop from affecting their present. The moment they set eyes on each other a power struggle commences and the push and pull between them only gets stronger when Justin starts working for the company where Eli is the CFO. But a romance between colleagues is never a good idea. While Justin yearns to submit to Eli, the idea scares him as much as it excites him and Eli doesn’t do relationships – after all, he’s a despicable monster in his own eyes. When Eli and Justin do come together it is a thing of beauty. They fit together as if they’d been created for each other. But Eli reminds Justin too much of the man who nearly destroyed him in the past, and when the flashback gets too powerful, Justin is gone.I lost myself in this book. I fell for Justin as soon as he was introduced but Eli...Eli took my heart and played games with it. His inner torment, his love for Justin and his selflessness were both excruciating and a thing of beauty, especially because he can’t see himself as anything but a monster. As anybody who follows my reviews knows, I don’t usually do well with angsty reads – and boy is this book angsty. And I didn’t help myself at all when I had to go out exactly when I reached the angst-summit. I did my shopping worrying about Eli and Justin, wondering how they were going to fix everything that needed to be fixed. I only mention this because it is very unusual for me to live in the stories I’m in the middle of reading while I’m away from the book. The angst in this book worked for me because both men had good reasons for the struggles they were facing and because the balance between angst and togetherness was just about right (for me). I loved that I had no reason to doubt that these two men belonged together long before Eli and Justin came to the same conclusion, even while I worried about how it would all play out. It didn’t make me flinch any less when it all went wrong, but it gave me the courage necessary to continue until I reach their happy-ever-after.Just Business is also an incredibly hot book. Eli and Justin are beautiful together. The BDSM scenes they share are as intense and exciting as their love making is. The sex scenes in this book tell the reader as much about who Eli and Justin are as the rest of the story does. I loved how it was not ‘just’ about dominating and submitting – in those scenes as in the rest of the story it becomes perfectly clear there’s a lot more to these two men than what appears on the surface or even than they are giving themselves credit for. This is the second Take Over title and I haven’t read the first one yet. I can’t say that was an issue at all. While it is quite possible somebody who has already read the first title will get more out of this book than I did, I can’t say I ever felt as if I missed out on anything. Having said that, I do now feel the need to read Takeover in the not too distant future. If Just Business sets the standard, I’ll be in for another treat.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Best romance story I've read all year in any genre! By Cynthia A Truda I read relationship/romance novels as my way to relax from stress. I started to stray from the the traditional M/F format when my library started offeringGay fiction. This book, however, transcends it label. The story is so rich and layered. I cared about these characters do much I was sad when the story ended. The sex scenes being well written and really hot was just icing on a yummy . I'm hoping this is not the end of the line for these characters. Zabo has created a world I want to keep visiting.

Johann communes with the Bureau's new headquarters, while the eighty-year-old German who's been living in the basement, surviving on a diet of spiders and mushrooms since the fifties, shares a story of Nazi scientists, occult technology, and the United States' death-ray cannon. Back east in a small seaside village, Abe Sapien reunites with his dead wife.

In this volume, Abe learns more about his mysterious past and gets lucky with a corpse bride. Ben Daimio, an ex-military man who won't stay dead, joins the team and makes Liz cranky. The Bureau moves into a new headquarters, and of course, the place is haunted. Johann gets possessed. Roger gets pants. Guy Davis' art is seriously ugly, but somehow it fits. It should be a major distraction, but it's not. "Hellboy" and "B.P.R.D." are among the best comix being created. Scary, funny and all around enjoyable.

An enjoyable addition to my Hellboy library By Ryan Agadoni I have actually been avoiding these BPRD books for a while now, because initially I had been turned off by the lack of Mignola art. I also remember looking through one of the books and not caring for Guy Davis' style. I recently flipped through a BPRD book at a Borders, though, and realized that I've been depriving myself of something I'd actually really enjoy.I like this book quite a bit. Guy Davis' art has really grown on me. In fact, I think it's great stuff. It serves the story very well. His renditions of Mignola's characters and stories achieve just the right feeling, that of horror mixed with humor mixed with pulp. The writing, too, holds that balance at the same level as the art.The story concerns the BPRD moving their headquarters to an abandoned military research facility in Colorado. Once there, they encounter crazy Nazi/ghostly/paranormal weirdness, of course. There are some great moments of humor and horror as the story unfolds. One such moment involves Ben, the new team leader, ordering Roger to put on some pants, then changing his mind when he sees the result of his order. Roger is also mystified throughout by everyone's insistence that he should have a gun. Johann, at one point, finds this awesome looking 40's style machine/weapon that he straps to his back to fight an "angel," and the image is one of my favorite illustrations from the book. There is also a secondary story about Abe Sapien's past. It's ok, but it is sort of distracting from the main story. It takes a long time to get where it's going, which is not that climactic once it's there. It feels like it should have been a standalone section in one of Mignola's Hellboy books rather than a back-up in a BPRD book.I love the new characters Johann and Ben. Johann adds more good weirdness and Ben's personality hits off the other characters in interesting ways. I'm looking forward to finding more out about each of them.Another reviewer mentioned that Roger's personality seems a bit different from his outings in the pages of Hellboy. I agree with that, but I don't think the change is a bad one. It actually adds another layer to the team dynamic, and it's not so far off from Roger's previous depictions so as to be jarring.I will definitely be picking up more of these books, provided that this creative team is still involved. I'm partial to consistent creative teams, and since book 3 on is all Davis, Arcudi, and Mignola, it looks like those will be the ones I collect.

A disappointment after a stunning Volume 3 By Surferofromantica BPRD surged back with a really great third volume, but this one regresses a bit – it is a miss, despite the praised-by-Mignola writing of John Arcudi (I have to give it to him, though – Arcudi adds some of the funniest sections I’ve ever read in a Mignola-linked item, most of which is at the expense of Roger the homunculi… and mostly his mysterious crotch-ring at that). The story starts off with the discovery of some sort of a nutty ancient skeleton, some frog stuff, some crazy BPRD politics, and Abe going off to learn more about his former life; then we get the emergence of the reanimated zombie marine Benjamin Daimio, who inexplicably becomes the new ordnance-hungry field team commander and proceeds to be utterly useless! Nutty team dynamics evolve, and we have some strange mad scientist that the gang uncovers in the basement of their new Colorado headquarters dredging up the history of some nutty Nazi paranormal project and the German scientists that were involved with it. Not sure what else I can say about this mess, other than I’m glad that Johann had a larger role in this one than he usually does (and I enjoyed reading his German). Cool scrapbook sample somewhere near the middle, though…

However, each book is really short like a novella and to much money to buy one at a time. It's not a good enough book for 10 which is what the whole thing came out to be in the end. Lesson learned.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Loved this finale! By EdaPeach I cannot get enough of the rapid fire dialogue in Hazel Kelly's books! This one was no exception, with some truly entertaining and sometimes endearingly snarky exchanges between Lucy and her roommate and, of course with her love, Aiden. Ms. Kelly should write for television, I'd probably watch it more if she did. This book was unique among the other four books in the Dates series because in this book tjevteo main characters don't spend that much time together. We watch them deal separately with twists and turns that occur in their respective lives while they come to terms with their new relationship. The series ends in grand style with dreams and ambitions fulfilled -- and one of the hottest scenes I've ever seen in Hazel Kelly's books. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. 1 book for the price of 4 By Doris W. Brown This was a very nice love story between Lucy and Aiden, however the story was incomplete. What happened to Fiona's character? did their businesses get off the ground? Why wasn't Fiona also saving her money? She was also a hairstylist like Lucy, smithy was she immediately broke after she was fired? Was her former boss prosecuted, and what was the nature of his illegal activities/businesses? This story, as is could have been told in one book, and priced at perhaps $5.99. Instead, the first book in the series was free, and each subsequent book was $2.99 each. So essentially I paid double what books of this nature should cost. A nice story, but again, not worth the $12 price tag !

There’s never been any question in Sean Tucker’s mind that he’d do whatever it took to make it to the major leagues and be one of the best pitchers of his time. The day he acknowledged to himself that he was gay was also the day he vowed to stay in the closet in order to chase his dreams. The problem is, he never counted on Mason Atley. Sean showed rookie short stop Mason Atley the ropes, both on the field and off. The two forged a friendship which continued as both of them moved through the ranks of the farm system and into the majors. Unfortunately, there’s always been one secret Mason never felt he could share with Sean. Until now. For seven years, Sean lived with the fact that he loved a man who would never reciprocate. When Mason admits that he’s always known he’s bisexual but has never allowed himself to pursue a relationship with a man, will Sean be able to put aside his reservations about starting a relationship with the friend he’d always assumed was straight? And more importantly, will they be able to find a way to stay together when their careers keep them apart more than they can be together?

13 of 14 people found the following review helpful. Yes, the storyline's been done ad nauseam, but this is a decent version. I just wish the author had used an editor and proofer. By Roroblu'sMum This is a very decent, feel-good tale of friends-to-lovers, that's been done time and time again, but this was surprisingly believable, despite the leads both being professional sportsmen. Both leads were likeable and there were few obstacles to stand between them, with everything working out a little too smoothly and conveniently, without any realistic angst, but still, I liked the tale enough to be OK with the rose-tinted spectacles take. The tale pretty much mirrors the blurb, with (brief) sort-of similarity to Ella Frank's Logan and Tate tales. It does run pretty close to the blurb, so there's no point repeating that, but here are my thoughts on it:There are a few things that make it a 4* read and not a 5* one: the author got muddled up with verb tenses at times, so I had 'uwot?' moments where I had to go back and re-read to make sense/also, the name of the character whose POV each chapter was narrated in was so small, that I didn't initially notice this and struggled with who was speaking; this also happened when she changed POV mid-chapter/there is not much sex in the tale, and what there is happens sort of perfunctorily - because it's a MM tale and it's expected. I needed more passion, more down and dirty words, more scenes, more eroticism. I mean, they'd both been into each other for over 7 years, so the passion should have been off the charts. Yes, I got that they trusted each other implicitly, so had unprotected sex, which should have added an extra dimension of emotion and eroticism, but the author just seemed to make this a matter-of-fact part, and didn't play its importance up enough/the leads did sort of seem to make mountains out of molehills a bit, which felt like unnecessary drama, as did the arc with the sister, though this worked out very conveniently for them/at one point, there was a discussion about kids, in which one wasn't all that into the idea and yet a few pages later when the subject came up again, he got asked again (as if for the first time), and had apparently changed his mind. Either the author hadn't ironed out these scenes, or had forgotten what she'd written a few pages back, as it seemed too much of an about-face on the subject/the hippy parents with their 'all's fine attitude' kind of seemed to serve no real purpose and faded out of the tale, as did the sister, once she'd served her purpose. However, the HEA we got to see, was sweet and did make me believe that the guys would make it. But, that was only at best 6-7 months down the line, so a bit later would have been better. There was a glimpse of the next book in the series, which features as one of the leads, a friend who appeared in this tale and who played quite an important part in getting the guys to open up, talk and deal with things, so I'd kind of already wanted to read his tale. I had hoped it would be something to do with the dogtags he wore, but that's apparently not the case, unless the author turns the next book into MMM.Overall, this was a decent read, that with a competent editor/content editor and proofer, could have been a 5* tale.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Dull and unemotional, 2.5 stars (some spoilage) By Lora905 First of all, there is cheating, so if you have any kind of problem with that, then don’t read this because this entire book (no exaggeration at all) is built on cheating. Even though Mason & Sean’s first time going “all the way” doesn’t take place until about 63% (something else to consider in case the cheating doesn’t bother you), there was lots of kissing, groping, and mutual BJs, and all of this before Mason even went to the divorce hearing. In fact, Mason’s wife – who, of course, is portrayed as a terrible shrew – doesn’t even sign the papers until 77%, AFTER Mason has moved in with Sean. And it seemed as if there was more focus on the physical stuff than dealing with emotions and problems. And the intimate scenes weren’t even all that hot. Secondly, although I was able to get through this, there was a real need for a good editor. There were typos, grammar mistakes, and tense errors from the beginning to the end.Other issues: time passage was handled poorly; very little character development – we don’t know who or how these guys were before they were MLB players, they hardly interact with anyone not connected to MLB, and they seem to have no life outside of the MLB; the author made them a little TOO manly – there were a few occasions where an MC was either thinking or commenting that being romantic or showing emotion/affection was too effeminate or girlie (heck, maybe that’s why Mason’s wife cheated); the writing seemed too disjointed from one chapter to another, plus the story was kind of boring; the characters were SO lifeless and dull that I had no feelings towards them and cared more about getting this book over with than what happened to them; Mason & Sean spent too much time misunderstanding and/or getting upset with each other and it got real old, real fast. And I was tired of Sean always waiting for the other shoe to drop, therefore not really allowing himself to think of being with Mason long-term, retiring from baseball, and possibly raising a family until 90% into the book. The book ends at 95%.Questions: When did Mason’s divorce actually become final? As of Chap. 21 he was still legally married, and the book has 25 chapters and an epilogue. At what point was it decided that Abi would give her baby to her brother? It was already done and decided by the epilogue but there was never any discussion. Were Sean’s parents ever going to be told or would Sean just lie & say he decided to adopt? How did the reporter find out Mason & Sean’s secret? It was never revealed.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. A good sweet read By Amazon Customer If you read the blurb then you know what the story is about and you know it is a MM read. So with that said this is a good story and I really liked it. I loved the characters and they way the story went. So, why no 5 stars? Well, it just didn't WOW me that much. Without giving away anything I think a little more on the sister would have been nice and some of the decisions that were made were thought about by one character but then never mentioned again and then things just popped up. I know that the author may have intended it this way but I still would have liked a little discussion about the one BIG decision. Other than that it was a really good story and if you like MM then this is one you should read.

From New York Times bestselling author Mariah Stewart comes the latest book in her celebrated Chesapeake Diaries, a small-town romance series in the tradition of Barbara Freethy, Susan Mallery, and Robyn Carr.Jamie Valentine is the wildly successful author of self-help books advocating transparency in every relationship. But when her widowed mother passes away unexpectedly, Jamie discovers her own life has been based on a lie. Angry and deeply betrayed, she sets out to find the truth—which may be in a small town on the Chesapeake Bay. Cutting her most recent book tour short, Jamie books a room at the Inn at Sinclair’s Point, just outside St. Dennis. The death of Daniel Sinclair’s father forced him to take over the family inn, and his wife’s death left him a single parent of two children, so there’s little room for anything else in his life. His lovely new guest is intriguing, though, and he’s curious about the secret she’s clearly hiding. But in the end, Jamie and Dan could discover the greatest truth of all: that the search for one thing just might lead to the find of a lifetime—if you keep your heart open.

That Chesapeake Summer (The Chesapeake Diaries), by Mariah Stewart

Review "Stewart's ninth Chesapeake Diaries contemporary romance deftly uses the tools of the genre to explore issues of identity, truth, and small town kinship. Bestselling self-help author Jamie Valentine has made a fortune writing books about honesty. When her widowed mother dies, Jamie is blind sided by her parents' secret: she was adopted. Grief and the irony of discovering that her life is based on a lie send Jamie into an introspective, identity seeking tailspin, and she decides to look for her birth mother. Following clues, Jamie heads to the picturesque small town of St. Dennis, along the Chesapeake Bay. Soon she's apprehensively romancing the inn's owner, single father Dan Sinclair, and befriending his clairvoyant mother, Grace, while getting to know the lovely, well-mannered, sociable people of St. Dennis. Stewart offers a strong statement on the power of love and trust, a fitting theme for this big-hearted small town romance." (Publishers Weekly)

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. That Chesapeake Summer By Sue P I really enjoyed being back in Chesapeake Bay and reading Grace's diary entries! These entries give a whole other POV to the story and kind of a behind the scenes peek!I really felt for Jamie in That Chesapeake Summer. She's been dealt some bad blows lately, and is rediscovering not only herself but her life as she knew it. I felt like she was taking a big chance emotionally when she headed to Chesapeake Bay to find the answers she needs to move on...and I was both worried and hopeful for her.I really liked reading about Dan, who we've seen in other books in this series and I've always wondered about him. He hides his own hurts, but is very drawn to Zoe, even if she's not telling him everything. The journey these two take separately and together is realistic and their characters are believable ones who I really liked. Mariah writes with a lot of emotion and I couldn't help but fall into this story.I'd recommend reading all of this series and meeting all the great characters, but That Chesapeake Summer can be read as a stand alone. The secondary characters who we've seen before are all relevant to a plot that carries itself smoothly and captivatingly.Any contemporary romance reader will enjoy That Chesapeake Summer.

A perfect beach book By Laurie Oh At the risk of repeating myself, I love the chance to read books by an assortment of authors whose books or series I haven’t yet explored. Such is the case with Mariah Stewart’s That Chesapeake Summer. Very honestly, I picked this book up because I do live in the mid-Atlantic and as I read the blurb, I could envision the community of St. Dennis. Even more so, I was intrigued by the plot itself and found myself fully invested – to the point where I lost track of time and missed the first 18 minutes (and arguably the best part of the game) of the Women’s World Cup. It took a text from my dad to ask if I was watching the game to tear me away – BUT I WAS AT 93% AND DIDN’T WANT TO PUT IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!! I come from a family of readers and sport fans, so they totally got it.This book is so wonderfully written, the plot, the characters and scene-setting are all perfectly woven. While this series is new to me, it didn’t ever feel like I was walking in during the middle of a movie. Characters from the earlier books never felt like strangers – they were nicely introduced and as a new Chesapeake Diaries reader, I felt as though I was being introduced to a mutual acquaintance. Which, as a new reader to any series, that is huge. The cast of characters that we do meet are very well sketched. But as our focus is on Jamie Valentine, I really loved her story and found myself completely intrigued by her. As she grieves and explores the next steps in her life, she does it in a very measured and thoughtful fashion. Her decisions are her own and as she seeks out information, she realizes that the end result will have broader impacts, so she very much takes others into consideration. These circumstances could have made her angry and selfish, but her response was really quite the opposite. Jamie’s kindness was one of the many things that made me like her that much more. Now that I know about the Chespeake Series, good luck keeping me away. I am completely enamored with St. Dennis. Maryland and I am looking for many more trips. Enjoy!!

For one reason or another I didn’t make it back to the series until the latest – That Chesapeake Summer. Read the synopsis – it tells you all you need to know. I liked this ninth installment a lot.It was easy to sympathize with Jamie. How shocking it must have been to find out that your life is not what you thought on the most basic level. She set out to learn the truth and ended up at Dan Sinclair’s inn.Dan is a single father of two teenagers and he runs the Inn. He’s had his guard up since his wife died 8 years earlier. His defensiveness wore on me but as the novel went on Mariah Stewart brought me up to speed on what had made him that way. Will he be able to trust Jamie enough to invite her into his life?In Jamie’s search for the truth she meets many of St. Dennis’s citizens. She likes them and begins to feel that she could fit in. Will the truth change that? What will the facts do to her reputation as a self-help author whose books deal with honesty in relationships? That Chesapeake Summer is #9 in the series but it can stand on its own. I didn’t feel I’d missed key information by not reading since the first book. I liked the setting and the characters and was happy with how Stewart brought the novel to a close. This would be a good book to read this summer – at home or the beach. *I received a review copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Lone Pine Western Series Trilogy contains three of the award-winning author's favorite western editions, full of memorable characters and Native American lore. “Three Days in Lone Pine” kicks off the series with a strange yet enlightening tale surrounding the historical first climbs (1873) of Mt. Whitney, highest peak in the contiguous USA, located amid the High Sierra Range of eastern California. The spirits of Indian legend regarding the early, ill-fated climbs do indeed come to life in this extremely well-written account, which brings an unforgettable cast of characters together and lays the groundwork for more of the same: “Still Waters: Legend of the White Wolf”, and “Moon of the White Wolf” continue this unique series among the wondrous, standing rock formations of the area, where motion pictures have now been filmed for over eight decades. Mr. Taylor truly brings his stories to life amidst this rugged and picturesque landscape, and introduces characters to us that we will indeed long remember. What are you waiting for? Saddle up and ride along with us into the “Lone Pine Western Series”... Enjoy!

But what she really is after is some of his blood. Even though she has feelings for Rhett she needs money to buy her sister medicine or else her sister will die. A blind date could just be the love her life... Valerie Faber comes from a long line of magic users of incredible power. Clan Faber is so skilled, they teach other mages how to use their abilities. All, except for Valerie. What little power she does have seems to be in the realm of house pets and familiars. Not very useful to a Clan used to epic abilities. Keith is a werecougar with a mixed heritage that makes him a little different from the rest of his Clan. He's overcome it all to become the local Alpha, but he hasn't yet found the woman who can make him purr in human form. A blind date brings them together, though rarely do shifters mix with mages. After a tempestuous night together, Keith is hot on Valerie's trail - with the help of her feline friends and a little interference from a well-meaning family member. He'll do anything to keep Valerie in his life, including stalking her in Clan Faber's magical fortress. "Feel free to invent the next 24 hours... we can do anything we want in this world... we have no restrictions from other people, or time constraints... it's just ‘us'..."

Michelle and Mike reunite via the internet. Twenty years before, when they were work colleagues married to other people, they had had a brief but intensely passionate affair, only to end the relationship to save their marriages. Now they find themselves remembering the shared interests and views that first drew them together. The months pass, and they gradually move from e-mails to texting to video calls, always wondering if today is the day they will be found out. This new ‘cyber world' they find themselves in offers them the opportunity to embark on a new, vibrant, no-holds-barred, ‘virtual' relationship, based on the joyously blissful moments they had shared all those years earlier. As they become ever closer in their imagined life as a couple, they find themselves asking the question: will they ever meet again in the flesh?

Written as a series of e-mails and instant interactive texting, this novel is full of LOVE, LUST, ROMANCE, SEDUCTION, EMOTION; it is RAUNCHY, PASSIONATE, EROTIC and SENSUAL.

You will not only feel Michelle and Mike's love... you will almost be able to taste it...

Tender as well as explicit, this is a must-read for anyone who has ever indulged in a forbidden love affair, found love on the internet, or indulged in cybersex!

This story is told via emails and private chats between two people, who are meant to be together but due to current situations, cannot be. I will admit to it being a bit difficult to read at first because you are reading such personal interactions between the two but once you get over the feeling of intrusion, it’s more than worth it.Cyber Lovers is all romantic, sexy and very naughty (a book you don’t want to read in public) but also broke my heart, knowing that you’re in love with someone so much but can’t be with them. While reading you feel as Mike and Michelle do - the ups and downs of their deeply devoted relationship to one another. You feel all the emotions, both good and bad, as the two lovers do. They are likeable and relatable and that will alone hook you but once you read all the saucy love scenes, you’ll keep turning the pages for more! They are sexy and hot, not nasty and vulgar, showing the real love shared between the two. This book is amazingly beautiful, well written and a unique read. I would love to know more about what the future holds for them.

By Book Addict I have to admit, at first I felt almost guilty reading this and wanting this couple to end up together given the circumstances they were in. It was like peering into another couples conversations and knowing you should not be reading or listening to what is going on but yet you cannot tear yourself away. The author did a fantastic job at capturing the feelings between the two characters through the emails, texts and video messages, they were wildly in love but at the same time she was sure to also capture the passion that was taking place between them. I do have to also admit I got a chuckle out of some of the descriptions during the passion scenes only because I am Canadian and the terms that are used are some in which I have never heard before. It is a longer novel but I was drawn into their fantasies and desires the whole way from beginning to end, I am really hoping there will be another novel so we can find out exactly how this all plays out in the end. I have to applaud D. Turner for being able to hold my attention the whole way through this story and being able to draw the feelings out of me that the characters were feeling. Great Job and please write more.

Steamy virtual sex scenes show what might have been. Virtual weekends away punctuated by virtual orgasms add to the excitement of the lovers' tryst. Will they ever meet? There must be more to tell. I can't wait to hear what happens next. Thoroughly recommended 5 star read. Well done.
