NAMU AMIDA BUTSU By Michael Monger There seems to be no reviews for this yet, though it's been out for a little while, so here I go:I really wish the Ninja Slayer anime looked like this, instead of being half Adult Swim show-style, only occasionally interspersed with Yoshinori Kanada-style animation (examples for anyone going "Who?": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aEmATUt2SY)Story for those not already familiar with the series and are just reading this review (if you are already a fan, WHY HAVEN'T YOU GRABBED THIS YET?): In the cyberpunk city of Neo-Saitama, A salaryman named Fujikido Kenji had his wife and child killed in a ninja turf war. When he is also about to get killed, his hatred and lust for revenge resonates with the Ninja Soul, Naraku, who inhabits him, and the both of them together become Ninja Slayer, a force hellbent on killing all ninja, particularly those of the Soukai Syndicate, who lords over the city.Sounds badass, right? Well, that's because it is.This manga version is an awesome action romp with VERY detailed art, which can even sometimes be hard to follow because of it's complexity. There's even good humor that comes out of all of the facets of this manga and the source novels it's adapted from, like the hyper-Asian setting and goings-on of Neo-Saitama, almost to the point of parody, the mannerisms and language used (some of which is pretty memetic among the "Ninjaheadz", Ninja Slayer's fanbase. YEEART!), and some of the characters. Content-wise, it's pretty dark and violent. But it wouldn't be Ninja Slayer without it. Also, there are female nipples in 2 pages.If you like ninjas, cyberpunk, or ninjas AND cyberpunk, don't even think, just buy it. You won't be disappointed.
