About the Author Ian Williams is a physician, comics artist, printmaker, and writer. He founded the website GraphicMedicine.org and began to publish his own strips in 2007, while working in a rural general practice in Wales.

Lynde This is a sad story about a physician who appears to be afflicted by obsessive compulsive disorder. His day to day life isn't particularly entertaining and he struggles to do his best taking care of patients despite a health system that doesn't necessarily support him doing his best. The title of the book is not reflective of the physician being a "bad person" but rather is reflective of his views of himself, despite being an apparently loving husband and a valued member of his community.

Good or bad, the medical profession can seem callous or detached. That is a common defense mechanism for those in medicine. It keeps the sad and at times awful experiences at arms length so one can be a little more objective.
