Since childhood, Soad Nasr has dreamed of becoming a NASA astronaut and finding a cure for cancer. Now, as a housewife and a stay-at-home mom, she pursues more realistic goals—like an undisturbed night’s sleep and a great cup of coffee.
While enjoying the time she gets to spend with her family, Nasr was inspired to write The Daily Hazards of a Middle Eastern Wife, which contains some of the more interesting issues regarding marriage in the Arab world.

Great By Mohammed Galal This book is simply amazing, it is fun, rich, and best of all very realistic, it discusses issues never discussed before on an international level, written in English, this book brings the bizarre traditions of the middle east marriages to the attention of the citizens of the world.The world has a lot of traditions and bizarre facts in it, but fact remains, that i have never seen such book in the power of its depiction to these traditions regarding marriages and relationships and the complex intertwining relations of these issues with religion and politics in the the middle east,when you read this book, you will get a feeling like you understand the mentality of the people living in this area of the world, a very powerful fact that i have not seen in a lot of books i read about traditions and cultures from around the world.whether you are a researcher, an interested person, or an artist ,this book gives you a great insight on the mentalities of the Arab people regarding relationships and marriages, and how they can be affected largely by external factors such as family pressure, political landscape (specially after revoutions of the Arab world) and different interpretations of religion.

The Daily Hazards of a Middle Eastern Wife discusses norms and traditions many Middle Eastern women face during the course of marriage. Using the real-life photos and illustrations, the book discusses what typically occurs during the engagement, wedding ceremony, honeymoon, pregnancy, child birth, and divorce. Brilliant book!

However, like everything else in the Arab world, every blessing is turned into a curse by the attitude that Arabs follow in doing things in their daily lives.This book is a window into the way marriages are done and lived in the Arab world, with first hand account of the writer in her personal experience in getting married to, and into, an Arab man.This book is insightful, funny and hits the chord with a lot of the issues facing married, and about-to-get married couples in the Arab world.
