1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW By Vanessa BACK COVER: Her memories of him filled her with hate!Three years ago Mike Hunter--along with his smooth too-handsome cousin, Mark--had killed Jo's sister Killed her as surely as if they'd been driving the car that ran her down that awful night.Jo had painfully rebuilt her life all alone, and the shy bookish girl of those days gave way to a beautiful sophisticated career woman, one of the top computer-programming consultants in the country.A wave of anger and pain she had thought long buried suddenly swept through her--for her latest assignment meant working closely with Mike Hunter and his faithless cousin!MY REVIEW:Jo's sister was inadvertently killed three years previously and now she finds herself working for the Hunter boys, Mark and Michael, whom she holds responsible for her eighteen year old sister's early demise. Jo's only family was her sister and she isn't exactly rolling in the pink sparklies when she comes face to face w/ Mark and Michael Hunter. Mike recognizes her right off, but Mark doesn't as he never even met her.It would seem that Mark had a fling w/ the younger girl and when she wanted more he walked away and wouldn't contact her. Desperate and pregnant she turned to her older sister to make things right. Jo contacted "Mark" at his apartment, but she actually met Michael instead. Mike offers assistance and promises to help but ends up reneging on that promise and being at the scene when Jo's sister was killed. Now his company could be at the mercy of Jo who still hasn't gotten over the past. This was an enjoyable read and I liked that it was the h that was seeking revenge. She has second thoughts and of course she is attracted to Michael but she fights it more than the other h's do. It added a bit more to the story that Mark was also trying to pick up on Jo, but I found myself feeling sorry for him at times w/ the way she would try to put him off. I liked that Jo seemed to be on to him and his maneuverings to have an excuse to get back in to her place and yet that sort of backfire on her when Mike jumps to conclusions as he did previously. What I did NOT like was that ***SPOILERS***The sister was painted so bad. My gosh she was 18. In other stories we excuse the h's that are that young and their childish antics but in this one she is painted poorly while the man gets off! He was rotten to her and he showed some pretty pushy type of behavior to Jo when he didn't get what he wanted from her. Even the tea lady acts like he is just a playboy so I didn't like the picture that was painted of the deceased sister.***END OF SPOILERS***There is a bit of a misunderstanding tossed in, some running to be w/ the other and finally explanations which of course upon reflection Jo is like, "Oh yeah." I still don't think Mark felt too bad for his part in that whole mess but I was glad that Michael and Jo could work things out for themselves it was just too bad that they had to do that to the sister though.
