Good, but it's incomplete By ChibiNeko This would be a five star review except for one major issue: the file for this is corrupted and has been since I purchased it back in October. It's at 33% into the book and while you can understand the story as a whole without it, it does detract from the overall reading experience. I've let Amazon and Dark Horse know about this and neither have fixed it - and I've re-downloaded this several times to check and I've tried it in multiple devices. That's a pretty major flaw in my opinion, as this is the equivalent of a publisher printing books with a page missing. I'd held off on reviewing this in the hopes that it'd be fixed, but it's been about 2-3 months and nothing has been fixed, so I think I've given them enough time.Now story-wise, this was fun to read. It's interesting to see what has changed and what didn't - or should I say *who* didn't. If you're read any of the prior Eltingville work you can pretty much guess that Bill didn't really change at all. That's not really a spoiler, as anyone who has read the series so far, even partially, could tell that his type never does. It's how the others have and haven't changed that was more surprising as a whole.What's interesting about this series and especially this final issue was how well the Eltingville Club encompassed the dark side of fandom. While there are certainly jerks in any fandom and they are covered to a mild extent in some media, they're never really specifically focused on as the common trend is to depict nerds as misunderstood, frequently lonely people who could have a lot to offer to society. Not Dorkin's nerds, as they're the type that would see nothing wrong with making derogatory remarks about cosplayers, females in the business, and so on. They exist in real life and what's more horrifying is that they tend to go unrecognized or called out for their behavior, as it's seen as customary. I think that this was part of the reason Dorkin made the series to begin with. Not only was it meant to be a bit of entertaining fun, but it's also a way to not only acknowledge the existence of this subgroup and show how poorly they fit into the rapidly changing world of games/comics/etc. It's pretty much social commentary at it's finest.So the question here is whether or not you should get this. Part of me wants to say yes, as I did greatly enjoy this and as a whole I do think that it's worth paying for. However at the same time I don't like that myself and possibly others have paid money for an incomplete, damaged product. As such, I'd only recommend this if you're really eager to read the end and don't want to wait for the collected volume issuing in February. If you can get this in paper format, I'd recommend that whole heartedly.
