From the Author With the help of my editors, including David Pruett, PhD, we made sure that even though this book is written for men, that women would enjoy reading it plus affirm the contents by saying, "Wow, he nailed it, I need to give this to my (son, father, husband, boyfriend, brother, boss, co-worker, etc.)." So to ensure this, I had several women read drafts upon draft after the edits along the two years it took me to write this book -- I've seen the tears and those that held back, their watery eyes; I have felt their pain and seen their hope. This book will educate a man for the better but will touch a woman's heart and soul as their mind says, "finally!" I've written six books, coauthored another, but no book I've ever written took me thousands of women and over 40 years to gather the information I needed to write this book. As a pro photographer of women, I've met and photographed thousands of women in my life, some nude, some clothed, over a three-plus generation period, and those experiences are what created this book because in order to write about life, you have to experience it first. Parts of this book are also based on my own personal successes and failures with women too. By virtue of my profession, I've experienced life with women, unlike the average man, from photographing Playboy Playmates to American Idol stars; tall, thin, short, heavy, blonde, brunette, small chested, large breasted, blue eyes to brown, I've experienced what seems like every woman in every form for decades, and the richest part of these experiences plus observations were listening to them talk about the men in their lives -- they taught me what they want and don't want in men, what their knight in shining armor should posses and I share this valuable information with you plus more in this book. In his usual friendly style, he shares with us his vast wealth of relationship knowledge based on his successes and his learning experiences. Every man in a relationship, from working professionals to an intimate couple, will find ways to not only avoid the pitfalls common to men but also find ways to expand that relationship. He even covers the changes that relationships have taken due to the digital 'on-line' age that we live in.While other books on relationships have been written, they are either written for both members of the relationship or written in a style that does not reach most men. If you want someone to understand, you need to write for your audience. This book is gear for men, talking about manly things and written by a man who has the experience that most men will never have even if they live to be 200 years old. Being a photographer and working with women from all over, with vast differences in their lifestyles and cultures, only someone in Rolando Gomez's position could have a place or point of understanding like this. Great insight and a must-read By TFLReader I had a wonderful father who treated all women with respect and constantly warned me to look out for men as they likely didn't have pure intentions towards me. On the one hand, this was sage advice because it held a grain of truth. On the other, it gave me an attitude towards even the kindest men that was adversarial. We ARE made differently and I have learned to appreciate these differences over the years. Author Rolando Gomez has had a front row seat to the "game" for over forty years in his work as a fashion photographer and shares some of the most insightful wisdom and advice that I have seen on men, women, romance, sex and so much more."Taming the Trouser Snake" is more than just your typical self-help book. Gomez has not only worked with thousands of women over the years in his chosen field, he is the father of four daughters, and he brings his knowledge gained of women to the table for the benefit of all. For the men who are only driven by carnal desires, there is much to learn from Gomez's wisdom and he imparts much in areas such as the language that women speak, trust, communication, and so much more.As a woman, I found this read to be incredibly insightful and enjoyable. There was much here that I inherently knew but had been unable to put into words - now I can. Would I have liked to be able to hand this to a few of the men in my life in the past? Sure, but I think that it's the men that seek out this sort of knowledge that are the keepers. Very well written and a must read.

By Brian Williamson Having read a few of the author's photography books,so I decided togive this book a try when I saw it mentioned on his website, eventhough it is not about photography. (Although it is very helpful forphotographers since it talks about relationships). I have read a fewself-help books before, but not many. Some were good, others not somuch. Reading Taming the Trouser Snake reminded my of another book Ienjoyed reading long ago, Why Men Are the Way They Are.It seems that many of Rolando's thoughts on women and relationshipsneeded to be brought into the open again since the skills of being agentleman have been lost. I see many men who just don't seem to getit in these modern times. It is also not a book about “conquest” of awoman,like some other poorly done books in the past. Within thisinformative and well researched book, there are words of advice andwisdom that pertains to your everyday life. I highly recommend thisbook for men and women, to gain insight and wisdom back to what hasbeen forgotten.
