Her fiesty spirit resonates throughout Donna Bowring's superbly crafted book. Driven by dialogue that rings true to each character, The Dues Card is a.fast paced thoroughly enjoyable read. I read it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down once I started. I hope there is a sequel in the works.

Kral I am a member of Donna Bowring's critique group. The Dues Card will resonate with everyone who has carried their life's hurts like a dues card. Cody, the main character, is a mess before she joins the military. When she rejoins civilian life, she is an example of "what doesn't kill you just makes you stronger." The question is: how will years and years of studying in the school of hard knocks prepare Cody for cashing in her dues card. Download the Kindle book now for a great summer read.

By Forever Reading Ms. Bowring's beautifully written book stimulated all five senses as I accompanied Cody through her disrupted adolescence and transition to adulthood. I related to Cody's experiences on many levels - including the military world, life in the '50s and onward, disappointment in a parent, and more - and marveled as she overcame obstacles as they stacked up against her. Readers who seek excellent writing, entertainment, and inspiration will enjoy this gripping poignant tale.
