Phillips When I first saw this comic , I knew I had to read it as I was captivated by the cover. In a way it reminded me of the film starrring Katie Holmes "Miss Meadows" where she played a school teacher by day and an assassin by night. The other thing I loved about this cover was that besides the blood aspect, it looked like something from a 1950's area. Even better , was when I opened it and saw that it had an introduction piece from author Chelsea Cain who is better known for her Gretchen Lowell series and one of my favourite female authors as I loved her style when it comes to serial killers and mysteries and she knows how to write a strong kick-ass feminine yet strong female character.Lady Killer starts off with our main character dressed as an Avon Lady and delivering her first kill, then coming home to play the perfect role of mother to her twin daughters. We know something is up though as her husband's mother Mrs S lives with them and is always acting suspicious. It starts to get interesting when Penn - a work colleague arrives and soon Josie discovers that she has had a hit hired on her . Now armed with the knowledge, she must fight back to bring down the big guns - but doing so with the balancing of being a mother to her daughters and a loving, all providing housewife.Lady Killer was a fun read and there is a bit of blood scattered throughout the book, so this is not one of those comics for the light-hearted. If you love a good strong 1950's female assassin storyline , then Lady Killer is the perfect graphic novel read for you which will give you the introductions you need to Josie's life and her families and the people she interacts with on a daily basis.Who said having a double life was ever going to be an easy job ?

Helpful information from a knowledgeable author By James Minter This book is more of a depository for useful facts and information which could help both teenagers to understand themselves better and parents to better understand their teenagers. However, it is very much an American teenager book as a lot of it refers to the American system.The subjects are unrelated so if a particular chapter deals with an issue that the reader needs to get an insight into, then they will get something out of this book. However, if the challenge or question isn’t there, then no help!For me it is a shame that there is no relationship between each subject as it is more of a ‘pick up a leaflet on ….’ rather than a book. This is a real shame as some of the information is really helpful, useful and aids learning and understanding of a difficult subject. There are pieces that everyone should read to get a better insight into the world of parenting and teenagers – but it’s finding those nuggets that’s challenging.However the author knows his stuff! It’s just the topics that seem a little disparate to me hence my three star rating.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Very Good Read By Pamela Johnston Ward This was a very good read. I had read previous work by this author and as usual, she does not disappoint. The title definitely fits this story. Candice was having very hard time trying to live by the lessons taught to her by her mother about sex and love. The battle between lust and love is very real for her. You have to read the story to find out how she deals with her dilemma. There were parts to this story that I can really relate to. This is a must read, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

I am happy Candice learned the difference between love and lust they are much very different. I do see them belong together it was hard for Taylor to tell her the truth and Candice to accept the truth but hey that happens. I read this book on Wattpad it was literally good too but now reading it again on here I think it was very different especially theres a part two. Guessing Miss Jen does like sequels ;)

Candice's mother defineitly had her head messed up with all of the mental abuse that she caused her. Candice grew up thinking that men were good for only one thing and that was money. As an adult she never got close to anyone of the men. Omg this whole book is relatable. Please grab it

It sucks, mostly, because I want more.The cliffhanger from the last volume introduces a new character, Shigure’s brother, who clearly tormented Mami in the past. But that all falls on the backburner for the majority of this volume, as Yukina is forced to choose between Shigure and Akira.And, frustrating enough, she chooses wrong. Her impulsive action proves wrong when she has a hard time continuing her cell phone story, and can’t keep Shigure off her mind. But she doesn’t know how to take it back, and she doesn’t want to hurt or lose Akira, even if she only sees him as a brother.Even if I’m frustrated with Yukina’s decision, and I feel so bad for Akira (and Mami, since I like her with Akira), I do enjoy the depth to her story we see. Yukina can’t figure out what to do with Shigure’s character, and thus immerses herself in his head. This shows her Shigure in a new light, and that makes it even harder to stay with Akira.At the end of the volume, we got to see how Yukina’s parents met, and what Akira’s father had to do with it. I was so so pleased with this book.This book begins a new western romance series that will revolve around a family of brothers. The Stockton brothers have endured through a hell that forged an unbreakable bond and filled their hearts with distrust for all women. I found myself intrigued by their emotional turmoil and can't wait to see each brother find the special woman who will steal their hearts and restore their faith.The first brother to take the leap is Chase who is the oldest and really the anchor that holds this family together. Tragedy and a shared sadness brings Chase and Mira together but in a way they've known each other for a decade. Chase learns that Mira is secretly carrying the child of their dead friend and immediately he wants to protect them. He tells himself it's to honor his friend but they had a connection that went deeper than friendship. Of course things get complicated because of the promise made between Chase and his eight brothers to never let a woman get close enough to hurt them. This story was filled with intense emotions as Chase and Mira's relationship grew romantic and yet they doubted each other. The Stockton brothers were so broken that it pulled me right into the story. I felt sorry for them but wanted to smack at least one of them for acting so angry at Chase when he couldn't help himself from falling in love with Mira. The story is heartfelt the way the brothers have such a tight bond and gah they have been through some tough times.This book was a wonderful read that poked at my emotions and left them bleeding, especially the hospital scene. I'm so glad that Steen will be getting his book next because I cannot wait to read it. I absolutely loved this book and recommend it to all.

I started this book in one day and could not put it down. There were parts that I just wanted to cry and there were parts that I wanted to throw my kindle across the floor. You have Chase Stockton and then you have Mira who has been hurt in so many ways losing everything that matter the most. Chase wants to protect her but he has had a bad life and trying to fix himself and his brothers but he had Mira has a connection that not sure how to handle it. Will they look pass the ghost of their life has and fall in love or will they leave and never look back only time will tell.
