After reading the first two books in this trilogy, I thought I could map out the direction the third book was going to take, but I got it totally wrong. As usual, with this author's work, the plot draws heavily from what is happening now and carries it into the future. The religious element is strong but non-believers will enjoy the action. The characters continue the development that was started in the first book. Prophesies are fulfilled. Civilization takes a definite turn to the dark side. It looks like the people of the earth are in for tough times. A Chosen Few tai e leap of faith and . . . That would be telling. I guarantee you'll never figure it out.

I've read a number of Bill Wetterman's books, and this is a good one. It kept me on the edge of my seat turning pages. I have no idea how Wetterman creates characters that grip your heart and squeeze until you beg for mercy, but he does it with this series. His research is impeccable. His facts are on target, right down to the smallest detail. When the story takes you to a location anywhere in the world, you can be sure the description of that location is accurate. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading his new release Yellowstone.Yellowstone - A Fall From Grace

I LOVE this heroine, she's intrepid, unique and unpredictable. A woman unto herself. I compare her to La Femme Nikita, a TV series from the late 90s.I too thought I'd be thrown by the religious aspect but it's not jammed down your throat; it's actually an integral, thoroughly interesting part of the plot line. I love the futuristic setting. Bill writes as though he's been on the Alpha Command Station. Actually, all the writing is terse and forward-moving. Never a dull moment. I can't wait for more books in the Peacock series!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Want More By Amazon Customer I love this series, but please Mr. Knight, I feel like you are torturing us. These books are way too short and there is too much time in between each installment. I would gladly pay more, but at least treat us like loyal customers and add some more meat to this novels.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Intriguing View of the Developing Apocalypse By Kindle Customer This latest installment in the series hits all the high points and really sucked me in as a reader. Loved the return of Jock (okay, hate Jock but can't wait for something suitably bad to happen to him). This one shows the "tide" really start to rise and I'm restless with anticipation to see what happens next. Darn you, Mr. Knight for not writing faster! If you haven't tried this series, jump on board with #1 and hang on for the ride.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. The Last Town Book 3 By Pen Name Mr. Knight has a way of getting you to invest in his characters that is in my opinion rare. This book, as with all of his books, sets the foundation of the story without slugging through a bunch of in needed crap. I've read all the books in the series and am anxious for the next installment. He is great at knowing just where to end a book and how to have a great teaser for the next book. Read the series. You won't be disappointed.

Oliver Twist, or The Parish Boy's Progress, is the second novel by Charles Dickens, and was first published as a serial 1837–9. The story is of the orphan Oliver Twist, who starts his life in a workhouse and is then apprenticed with an undertaker. He escapes from there and travels to London where he meets the Artful Dodger, a member of a gang of juvenile pickpockets, which is led by the elderly criminal Fagin. Oliver Twist is notable for Dickens's unromantic portrayal of criminals and their sordid lives, as well as exposing the cruel treatment of the many orphans in London in the mid–nineteenth century. The alternate title, The Parish Boy's Progress, alludes to Bunyan's The Pilgrim's Progress, as well as the 18th-century caricature series by William Hogarth, A Rake's Progress and A Harlot's Progress. An early example of the social novel, Dickens satirizes the hypocrisies of his time, including child labour, the recruitment of children as criminals, and the presence of street children. The novel may have been inspired by the story of Robert Blincoe, an orphan whose account of working as a child labourer in a cotton mill was widely read in the 1830s. It is likely that Dickens's own youthful experiences contributed as well. Oliver Twist has been the subject of numerous adaptations, for various media, including a highly successful musical play, Oliver!, and the multiple Academy Award winning 1968 motion picture.

Whole paragraphs of Mr.Dickens' prose are missing! I realized this while listening to an audiobook of Oliver Twist and following along by reading this edition. Doing this, really brings the whole thing to life especially when someone with a marvelous British voice is reading. I'm deleting this version and downloading the sterling edition instead. It matches my audiobook!

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Better when published the way Dickens meant it to be By Loyd Phillips (This is a review of the Kindle Serials edition of Oliver Twist.) I always had trouble plowing through 19th Century literature. Dickens seemed to be a genius story teller but the arc of his novels seemed wrong somehow. Reading Oliver Twist in the same pattern of installments it was written for in the first place makes it into a different reading experience. I hesitate to say this but I felt it was a different book when read this way. Apparently Dickens knew what he was doing but until now we had no way to get the books in the serial format the author wrote them.I hope Amazon will publish the rest of Dickens' works as serials. They really are better this way.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Great book, excellent edition By Jak Can't add much to all that has been written about this great novel over the 175 years since its first publication. Only Dickens' second novel, it is rich and compelling reading, and like all his books, full of unforgettable characters and events. This is an excellently formatted version, enriched by the wonderful illustrations from the first edition (1838).

An Expose on Cyberbullying and YouTube Trolling We've all heard about it in the media. Devastating stories of cyberbullying, trolling, serial stalking and relentless harassment on YouTube, Amazon and other virtual spaces which offer us little to no protection from such attacks. Not surprisingly, World War II historical revisionists and neorevisionists (writers of new revised history) are especially vulnerable to these vicious and oftentimes innovative forms of hate and abuse. From name calling, hate speech and misogynist fanaticism to deliberate lies, subversion and distortions, this expose offers invaluable insight into the growing viciousness of the virtual environment. Authors, researchers and general readers alike will learn a lot from this book as it reveals the hateful thoughts and subversive methods of the dark and growing underworld of Internet hate cults and trolls. Military historian V. K. Clark lets her attackers, like "D Watts/Blut und Boden" of Renegade Broadcasting, and abusers, like "Gerry Lux" of Facebook, speak for themselves, in their own words. She also recollects some of her battles with the most vicious personalities the Internet has to offer, smashing their lies one by one. With an air of sarcasm and humor coupled with sheer substance, she corrects their flawed beliefs about Nazi race theory by means of a dual approach: photographs and statements by Third Reich authorities. In this way she reveals that Nazism was no different than the other Western nations when it came to ideas and policies concerning race. EXCERPT: "What follows is a sampling of the literal barrage of hate and abuse I have encountered from all of these groups as a result of my research. And this does not include anywhere near the full accounting of the abuse I’ve received from Ms. Carolyn Kahant, truthers and neo-nazis over the years. It is rather just the tip of the iceberg. It is this endless abuse, intimidation, cyberbullying and hatred which, taken together, has finally convinced me to retire from this genre after 6 years of publishing and to move on to other topics unrelated to Hitler and WW2."

7 of 12 people found the following review helpful. VK CLARK EXPOSES PERVERSION THAT IS WHITE NATIONALISTS By Rodney K. Martin While I have strong philosophical and historical differences with her, Ms. Clark in this book demonstrates, using their own words and twisted mental issues, the plague that infests White Nationalism and its negative impact on serious scholarly research and alternative political discussion. Ms. Clark does an excellent job exposing the fact that many of the online "attackers" exposed in her book conceal their identity. They do this for a variety of reasons including but not limited to closet pedophilia, such as the vicious person who uses the name "BlutundBoden" AKA "D Watts" AKA "Zach Harbinger" who uses a variety of fake names to hide his identity in order to prevent cross reference with Data bases such as Megan's List and prohibitions from internet use. This deranged person does indeed live off federal welfare which he attacks others for receiving and spends his day at taxpayer expense online, behind fake names, to avoid legal ramifications, attacking as many real scholars and activists as possible. Likewise, online user "BlutundBoden" participates with a group titled "Renegade Broadcasting" an online Podcast repository, which advocates violent attacks and even rape of women and prides itself on ignorance and vulgarity as "strengths". Many of the podcast hosts at Renegade, who have attacked Ms. Clark, advocate "White Nationalism", but themselves have all been exposed as either "Non White", having engaged in miscegenation, and homosexual and kink activities. The Proprietor of Renegade, Mr. Kyle Hunt who fancy's himself as a future U.S. President has been in a long term relationship with a mate with documented fetishes for Jungle Fever while the effeminate Mr. Hunt himself has made public statements in support of polyandry. Carolyn Yeager-Kahant has been exposed, in addition to Ms. Clark's book, for acting antisemitic, while using prominent Jewish sources in attacks on White Nationalist activists in defense of her feminist views and her use of her former Jewish husband's (whom she married in Palm Beach, Fl) name long after their divorce while residing in her trailer in rural Texas. Ms. Clark's expose' is both timely and on the mark given the extreme hypocrisy and glass houses from which the perverted individuals exposed by Ms. Clark's throw rocks.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. GREAT WAY TO START AN ANTHOLOGY! By Bike Book Reviews What a great way to start off this brilliant anthology! I love the chemistry between Zac and Blake from the start, though Zac wouldn't have admitted it. Blake takes a shining to Zac right away, but something tells him to tread softly.Zac is just coming out of a relationship that was less than stellar, the last thing he needs is to feel things for his guide, right? While Zac and Blake are navigating each other and weighing the potential for the future, another couple on the trip is having problems (mainly because one of them is a class A no refunds Douche, jus sayin ;p), will these two be able to fix their relationship, should they even try? There is so much going on in the book you never get bored, but you also never get confused about what is going on, that is how good this author is! You will love to see what happens with these two, it makes for really good (and ok hot) reading! This anthology started off in the perfect way! I recommend the whole anthology, but you can buy this book separately. Thanks K.C., for a wonderful start to a stellar anthology!* I received this product in exchange for an honest review*

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Nice chill By Christian Quick, paced, funny at time, short story that will leave you wanting more. The story of Zac and Blake proves there is such a thing as love at first sight, if you are willing not to over think the possibility. The Yosemite backdrop brought back fond memories of what it is like to enjoy nature... Ah sex in the wild!Looking forward to reading more about Chris and Germy. I see a story there.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A light and pleasant MM read By Bea LaRocca Aligning North is a well-written, light and fun read without a lot of over-the-top angst and drama. Blake and Ali are two of the founders of a hiking tour group geared specifically toward members of the LGBTQ community. Since Ali and Blake have been best friends since they were kids, she doesn't hesitate to tease him unmercifully about his obvious attraction to Zac, one of the hikers that they will be guiding on this week-long trek. At first it seems that Zac isn't interested in Blake's attentions but in reality, he's just getting over a recent break-up. As their trek continues they get to know each other better and Zac begins to open up and relax. While these two men are growing closer, another couple on the trek are falling apart and this causes some tension for the rest of the group. It also provides the opportunity for Blake and Zac to give into their attraction for each other. Will their hook-up lead to something more or will it just be a pleasurable vacation fling? The gorgeous cover drew me to this story and the blurb made it a must read for me. I am a huge fan of the great outdoors and in my youth, I really enjoyed camping, hiking and fishing so I was sure that I would be able to find something about this story that I liked. I'm also a former Meteorology and Geology major so I for one truly enjoyed the description of the geologic formations in Yosemite and that of the thunderstorms that plagued the group during the beginning of their hike. The descriptions were so well done that I could envision myself hiking along that trail myself! I really liked the main characters too, although there wasn't a lot of backstory or in-depth characterization to describe who they all were as people. I found that approach to be both refreshing and easy. I got to know them a little as they got to know each other. Well done! For me, this was a solid five star read.

Horton Dempsey Copeland and Evelyn Tapper were married on December 7, 1932 in Elkton, Maryland. They purchased a 125 acre farm in Norfolk County, Virginia in October 1943. There was a two story house with four bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, no indoor plumbing. They had two daughters and three sons, Marie, James, Helen, John and Horton Jr. Later a daughter, Frances was born in 1944, a son, Robert in 1945 and a son, Kenneth in 1948. Horton, Sr., a carpenter for the government, provided financial support, operated the farm and provided leadership for the family, died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of fifty on July 23, 1952. Their mother, thirty eight year old home maker, with eight children between the ages of three and eighteen, had to determine how her family would persevere and get along without their dad. Her oldest son, James was sixteen and entering the twelfth grade at Deep Creek High School. With his leadership and responsibility for the farm, he quickly matured far beyond his age of sixteen. This was the beginning of a new chapter in the life of their family with the challenges, and difficulties that lay ahead. They learned to work, play, and pray together as a family and witnessed first-hand how God answers prayer. Sometimes tragedy brings out the best in families. It did in their family. They applied themselves to support their mom, developed an unconditional love for each other and a bond that can never be broken. Their story "A Firm Hand & A Tender Heart" is a journey of Love of Family, Faith, Redemption, Devotion, Miracles and Memories as experienced by the Copeland's of Deep Creek.
