This was a short glimpse into where Charlie and Clink are now. They are both miserable without the other and two broken souls too stubborn to do anything about it. It is also about where they came from and what led them to be who they are now."Broken. Just like his words, his promises. Broken. Just like me."Charlie has a lot of explaining to do and still a number of hurdles to cross. She came to Chisolm seeking revenge and that is not what she found when she got there. Clink was not looking for a happily ever after until this mysterious girl stole his heart. Can they work out their differences, can get past the lies and deception? Well, we will have to wait and see. The both need a good hard look at their past in order to move on, either together or separate. This was another well written installment of the Kingsmen MC but I think it left me wanting more than anything else. While this piece was needed, give background and understanding, to us impatient readers it left me crazy when I ran out pages...is it September yet???

Has anyone noticed the fact the at the end of book four when Charlie leaves Clink to go for her surgery without him knowing it, she leaves her key to his house in the hook by the door?! In this book she's got the key and goes into the house, no problem. Please tell me there's someone else that noticed that!!! I won't say more because everyone else pretty much gives a short description of it, and I doubt that I'd have anything new to add. So I'm going to list what Bothered me, nothing crazy (still good observations, I think ha), I still gave it fours stars:))I got sucked into this series by purchasing The Kingsmen MC boxed set 1-4. While I really liked it, I did complain in my review for it that some characters changed names mid series, which was very annoying. So we got Beth, Clink's ex and baby mama. She started out as Beth in book two or so, then chnaged into Barbara/Barb in book four. Well, now we are in book five and she's back to being Beth. Brendan had started out as Dylan, then Brenden, and finally Brendan, which stuck in book five. I'm thinking that if you wait 2-3 months in between reading each book, stuff like that doesn't really stand out. However, if you read them all back to back, like I did, you will definitely notice. I was a huge fan of the BH90210 original series, and loved Dylan, Brandon worked for me too, so either name would've worked for me, just please don't switch it on me after I emotionally attached myself to one already LOLAnother complaint I got is the fact that this was less than a novella. I understand that we get the conclusion to it all in book 6, but over 20% of the "book" is actually an introduction to Ms Oakes other book/series, which is fine, but seriously, I expected the main story to be a little more than the three quarters of the overall doc. It is not the first time I've seen this, most likely not the last time either, but so NOT cool!!!

By lmbthomas2005 I was given an arc of this book for a honest review.Bitter Sweet Beginnings Book 5 (The Kingsmen MC series) By Tara Oakes is the next installment in the series. The story is told in a different manner than the previous book but picks up from almost the end of the last book with Charlie leaving Clink to go into the hospital to save her father Vince: the man she originally came to town to destroy. Charlie now is rethinking what she originally came to town for as she tries to recover. She misses Clink and is having a hard time dealing with what she has lost. While we see what is going on in real time we get to know more about Charlie through flashes of her life growing up with an indifferent mother, spoiled baby sister and a father who she felt was the only on her side. We also get to see Clink at a pivotal part of his life in the past as well as where is went when he left Charlie in the hospital. Each person tries to reconcile their feelings about each other and if they can live without the other. The story is a novella and sets the reader up for the final instalment in the Kingmen’s saga. Looking forward to the last book to see how things end for all parties involved. I give this installment 4.5 stars.
