About the Author
Joanna Jullien is a former technology executive and mother to two grown sons. She is the founder of the parenting and education resource, Banana Moments Foundation (dedicated to help parents learn how to build trust and communicate discipline with cyber-powered kids), as well as the writer of the Sacramento Cyber Safety column for Examiner.com.
As an author, educator, and speaker, Jullien has advised countless families on how to strengthen the parent-child relationship in a high-tech world. She earned her bachelor’s degree in social and cultural anthropology from U.C. Berkeley, where her honors thesis about corporate culture was awarded the Kroeber Prize.
Jullien is a founding member and active partner with the Coalition for Placer Youth, a grassroots organization dedicated to youth substance abuse education and prevention. She has partnered with Therapeutic Solutions 360 in Roseville, California, to offer workshops and private training for parents.

It is our responsibility to teach them, nurture them, love them, and prepare them for success. It is not a job to be taken lightly, but one that should be intentional. Joanna Jullien has identified a HUGE need for parents, children and families as they navigate life deeply intertwined with social media and technology. While technology and social media has its benefits, it can also bring to light boundary issues with how to use it. Joanna's passion in educating and advocating for returning the power to the user is evident.
