By rpmuldoon This short book is best read in bites, some of which are easy to swallow and others of which need a lot of chewing. It does not seem written to teach, as much as to help readers learn about themselves. It is necessary to bring meaning to this book, to participate in it, in order to discover its wisdom.Author Jowha Choi sometimes is as precise as an engineer in his language; at other times he is opaque, provocative and suggestive as a poet, forcing us to reconcile what appear to be contradictions in the text and in ourselves. And that, I think, is the core of what this book offers -- ways to reflect on who we are, how we got here, how we make our way through the day, and, ultimately, how to recognize when we are closest to being ourselves.There is advice on meditation, of course -- I'm very fond of Chapter 6, "Breathing for Better Health," which, if recorded, could guide many meditations on the joy of being alive -- and Chapter 9 contains excellent career advice on how to find and work with a mentor and how to balance work and home life. Chapter 11 is a sensitive commentary on parents and children. Other chapters, too, contain pragmatic advice, but these are simply components in Choi's larger goals of getting us to discover and enjoy who we are. I think the book does that exceptionally well.

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Excellent inspiring book!!!!! By Maddie D EXCELLENT BOOK, easy to read & understand. Perfect for BEGINNERS, as well as the "veteran" meditators. The author explains that we all have STRESS in our lives, "it"s ok"!!! The tools in this book simply give you a clear understanding of letting them go, releasing them to have a more peaceful, joyful, productive life with your children, friends and loved ones. I will use this book over & over again, and recommend to ALL my friends and family. Thank you for writing this book and sharing it with the world!!!!!! Maddie DeSimone

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Truly Inspired By Anthony I recently felt inspired enough to finally pursuit a growing inclination toward trying out meditation. Broke and unable to travel, I turned to Amazon's collection of meditation themed literature for support toward my endeavor. Never having attempted to meditate before, the step-by-step guidance for beginners seemed to be the wiser selection amongst the options on my laptop screen. Nevertheless, the colorful orange and yellow cover with a unique black image on this book titled "Harmony Meditation: A New Way to Completion," seemed more fitting of my newly embarked upon journey and so continuously called my attention back to it, as I perused the alternatives. When I read its preface through the `LOOK INSIDE!' option I thought, "Wow! That was actually interesting." I was very happy to learn that the material inside seemed to reflect the same colorful nature of its cover.I was even more pleased to find a plethora of concepts contained in this book that intrigued, challenged and moved me. Right from its preface, it is plenty evident that this author wants to assist the reader in finding a way to live life to his or her ultimate fulfillment. After I realized that I had that same goal for myself (aside from just trying meditation), I opened myself much more to the possibility of the effectiveness of the methods provided. There was sincere honesty, compassion, wisdom and attention to detail in the author's description of how someone in search of harmony can attain it. This goes beyond my personal comprehension in many instances within the text, but I feel that is created very purposefully for the reader, as a way to prompt for deeper inner-exploration. Constantly, the author provides insight-provoking metaphors as well as specific real-life examples of challenges we face as humans mentally, physically, and interpersonally.I could not have asked for a better book to address what I didn't initially know I was looking for guidance on. Although knowing how to sit in an uncomfortable posture for long periods of time and experiencing a pseudo-Zen state would have been all-the-buzz back at the office; I am much more satisfied with the palpable appreciation for life that I have been presented with thanks to this reading.
