About the Author Dan Zevin is a Thurber Prize-winning humorist. Two of his books, Dan Gets a Minivan and The Day I Turned Uncool, were optioned by Adam Sandler, and the latter is now being developed for NBC by Jeffrey Katzenberg, Seth Grahame-Smith, and Lauren Rogen.Dan has been an award-winning humor columnist for the New York Times, a comic commentator for NPR, and a contributor to print or digital editions of The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, Rolling Stone, Salon, the L.A. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Know someone selfie-obsessed? You'll be amused by this book. By Meg Mr. Selfie was a fun romp through poking fun at Megalomania. It dealt with an issue we've all encountered: people who've taken the selfie trend to a whole new level of obsession. As an added bonus, the book reminded me so much of someone malingering on my FB friends list and clogging my feed with her ridiculously frequent attention-begging, compliment-hungry selfies that it drove me to unfriend her. Boy, did THAT feel good!Zevin's over-the-top caricature of Mr. Selfie, the self-obsessed self portrait photog who loses his job and puts himself into mortal danger all in service of taking more pictures of his favorite subject was hilarious, if absurd by design. The same exaggeration which failed in Mr. Humblebrag's story succeeded here, eliciting snorts of laughter and copious amounts of eye rolling.If you know someone who is his or her own paparazzi, you'll be amused by Mr. Selfie.

By Carol Papuga Mr. Selfie by Dan ZevinI loved this humorous parody of the “Mr. Men” and “Little Miss” series by Roger Hargreaves. In the original series, blob-shaped men and women exhibited different traits and emotions such as “Mr. Happy,” “Little Miss Selfish,” “Mr. Brave,” and “Little Miss Giggles.” My pre-school children loved these books, especially “Mr. Tickle” where Mr. Tickle would sneak up and tickle people. I think they will enjoy these new parodies now that they are grown!This book is in the new series, “Little Miss” and “Mr. ME, ME, ME” which is Dan Zevin’s series for the Millennials! Mr. Selfie is so obsessed with himself that all he does is take selfies. He risks his job and even his life due to all his picture taking. But it doesn’t seem to bother him because he gets lots of attention. This is a commentary on today’s society and I think many people will enjoy this book and others in the series.DAN ZEVIN is a Thurber Prize-winning humorist. Two of his other books were optioned by Adam Sandler, and one is now being developed as a sitcom. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Funny By Amanda Talbert This review is for the book "Mr. Selfie" by Dan Zevin. This book is a parody of the old "Ms and Mr" books. I used to read those books growing up. I have read two other books in this series, "Little Miss Overshare" and "Little Miss Basic". I thought both of those books were pretty hilarious. This book, I thought, was not quite as funny, but still a bit humorous. Mr. Selfie spends all of his time uploading selfies to various social media outlets, and ends up aggravating everyone he comes across.Thank you to Blogging for Books for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
