Jena Morgan, Atlantic City’s favorite go-go dancer, may have overreacted when she found her boyfriend balls deep in a stripper called Candy. Instead of washing her eyeballs with bleach, she drank a bottle of tequila and bought a house off the internet. A house far away from her cheating, criminal of an ex-boyfriend. A house in Scotland. As soon as she turns up to claim her new home, Jena finds out exactly why you shouldn't 'one-click' houses while falling-down drunk. It was a dump. With no money, and no skills outside of shaking her booty, Jena does the only thing she can do—she throws herself into the biggest DIY project the Highlands have ever seen. Since Jena’s arrival in town, Officer Matt Donaldson’s workload has tripled. The woman is a menace, gorgeous yes, but definitely a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Her only discernible skill seems to be causing chaos wherever she goes. She attracts trouble like honey attracts bears. Which is why Matt isn't surprised when her ex-boyfriend turns out to be a member of the New Jersey mob. Although Jena’s ex has come to Scotland to win her back, she wants nothing to do with him—a reaction the mobster does not take well. Overnight, Matt’s job morphs from hunting missing cats and breaking up fights at the old folk’s home, to chasing down the mob and keeping Jena alive. And he's trying to do it all while remaining professional enough to keep his hands off his sexy, but crazy, American charge. This is book 4 in the Invertary series, but can be read as a standalone novel.

From the Author AUTHOR NOTE: "You say tom-A-to, I say tom-ah-to..." That line really only works when you sing it, but you get the idea. ;) This is just a heads up that I write with UK spelling. I know it looks like the books are full of mistakes, but we really do spell like that over here...honest! :DTHE SCOTTISH BOOKSLingerie Wars - Invertary, Book 1Goody Two Shoes - Invertary, Book 2Magenta Mine - Invertary, Book 3Calamity Jena - Invertary, Book 4 Bad Boy - Invertary Book 5 Here comes the Rainne again - Invertary, Book 6Caught - Invertary, Book 7,(Mitch's story) out late 2016
From the Inside Flap "This is the kind of book that leaves you feeling good! Janet Elizabeth Henderson's Lingerie Wars ranks right up there with books from some of my favorites authors in this sub-genre; Molly Harper, SEP, Jennifer Crusie and Susan Donovan...just to name a few! Her writing is excellent, the book is filled with wonderful dialogue and her humor will no doubt strike a chord with many readers, it certainly did with me! She tickled my funny bone...big time!!" About the Author I grew up in Scotland, but after I met my Dutch husband in America we decided to move to New Zealand and that's where we've settled. We bought a patch of land that we've filled with other people's unwanted animals - we didn't advertise for them, they found us! So far we have three miniature horses (we took in two and were surprised 11 months later when a third appeared - yep, we know nothing about horses!), three anti-social alpacas, a grumpy cow, one pet sheep who wants to live in the house, a crazy goat who keeps eating my manuscripts and an escape artist chicken who breaks into our house through the cat flap. And that's just the pets who live outside the house - don't even get me started on the demented, farting dog who keeps burying my shoes! On top of this I have two small girls, one DIY obsessed husband (I said "obsessed" not "skilled") and a 92 year old neighbor who thinks she lives with us. In between cuddling animals and herding kids, I write books. If you'd like to sign up for my newsletter, which happens sporadically - usually when books are being released - then you'll find a form on my website. Early in the story local cop Matt says to Jena “men have a tendency to get injured around you.” Another scene had Matt thinking “he’d seen her during the aftermath of many a disastrous date.” All those prior dates and injuries were skipped as if they were a back story I knew nothing about. And I read the previous books. It wasn’t in them. I wish the author would have given us examples or short scenes of that. I felt I was missing part of the story.I loved the secondary romance between Grunt and Claire. Really charming. The main romance is Jena and Matt. It was good. But I was more impressed with the story than the romance. I’m not complaining about the romance. It just wasn’t as much fun as the Grunt and Claire romance.I was impressed the author used NO stupidity.CAUTION SPOILER: (Re: no stupidity)The bad guy kidnaps the heroine twice, and she did nothing stupid to cause it. I liked the smarts of how the good guys followed the bad guys in one of the scenes.END SPOILERI was surprised because so many other authors doing the same scenes would have used stupidity. This author thought it through and did it better.THE SERIES:Book 6 will be published in 2016. Each book is a stand alone romance about people living in the small town of Invertary in the northern Scotland Highlands. Main characters in one book have small roles in other books. My ratings are:5 stars. Lingerie Wars Bk 13 ½ stars. Goody Two Shoes Bk 23 ½ stars. Magenta Mine Bk 3 (novella)4 stars. Calamity Jena Bk 4(not read) Bad Boy Bk 5(not read) Caught Bk 6DATA:Narrative mode: 3rd person. Kindle count length: 6,077 (292 pages). Swearing language: mild plus s***. Sexual language: moderate. I've been impatiently waiting for this next installment in the Invertary series, counting the days until its release. In this action-filled, laugh out loud rom-com, Invertary is shaken up yet again by a visiting American ex-go-go dancer, Jena. Wherever she goes, it seems, chaos is sure to ensue. Not that she means it to, of course. Unfortunately, her mishaps haven't gone unnoticed by the entire town, and they've given her a catchy nickname: Calamity Jena. There's even a betting board in the town's pub, where pint-drinkers can place bets as to what they think Jena's next catastrophe will be.But when Jena's ex, Frank, shows up in Invertary, determined to get her to go back to America, catastrophe is too mild a word. Now, Jena's life is in danger because of Frank and his goons, and the man who steps up to the challenge of keeping her safe is Invertary's only police officer, Matt Donaldson.Just when small town life is getting to Matt, making him want to move to a bigger city with more action, the gorgeous and danger-unto-herself American has him working overtime as her protector. He has to keep reminding himself that Jena is just a job, especially when his mind wanders--and wonders--thinking about the effects of just being near the accident-prone woman has on him and his libido. Will Matt be able to keep things professional while making sure his charge stays safe? Will Jena be able to stay out of trouble? You'll have to grab a copy of the book yourself to see what happens! ;) It's the perfect summer read, filled with laughs, emotional depth, action, sexy times, and all the crazy townsfolk (we all love) of Invertary. Now, I'll again be waiting impatiently for the next installment of the Invertary series: Bad Boy. I can't wait to see what Janet has planned next for her readers. And I will confess that I'm a huge fan of all of her books and will read anything this woman writes.

From a free sample to a full-blown addiction in just a few pages, I swear. The story is at turns hilarious, heart-warming, and maddening-- most often some weird mashup at once. The cast is filled with loveable oddballs, and the strength of the relationships and love just jumps right off the page at you. Seriously, the bonds of family and friendship run deep, conveyed with excellent dialogue. Okay, here's the word thing, though: since I've never been to Scotland, all of the accents ended up sounding like Gerard Butler and the girl from Brave in my head, no joke! I was so enchanted with this little town and its people that I'm going to pick up the rest of the series... after finding some films with Scots to add a little variety. Oh, but Gerard Butler's voice can stay
