This whimsical, witty little book had me laughing out loud and wishing I had done a better job of paying attention in Sunday School! Children will identify with Edgar, a fully-outfitted little hero armed against his foes with tennis balls, good humor, wisdom and a good memory. A page-turning adventure story with resounding moral lessons for readers that are either just starting to branch off on their own, or still love being read to. Just the perfect mix of adventure, virtues, magic, and teamwork between a few good friends, you will be asking yourself when the sequel is coming out. Mr. Davis transmits a good bit of cultured humor and wit within these pages that keep adults engaged and laughing. A wonderful first book, Mr. Davis!
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. I really enjoyed reading Edgar and the Dragon By David Nilsson I really enjoyed reading Edgar and the Dragon! The story captures my attention all the way through. Joseph explains the good and evil in a good and easy way. I hope this book will be translated into swedish - It would then be easier for me to read it with my son. This book is good for both young and old!

And at the heart of the fast paced tale is some of the truest wisdom that has stood the test of time over millenia. Our children (10 and 6) loved this story - best appreciated when read aloud with just one chapter each day. It takes time to absorb and appreciate each new twist in the tale. Bible verses take on a relevance and urgency and our children wished that they too, just like Edgar, had paid more attention to their Sunday School lessons!
